Wheelchair

As an accessible wheelchair vehicle hire company, working in this industry for 10+ years, we have seen and experienced first hand the challenges faced by people with disabilities when it comes to mobility. Whilst, we seek to do our part by providing vehicles that can get people to point to point b, we cannot deny the importance of wheelchairs in the lives of people with disabilities. Wheelchairs are an essential mobility aid for individuals with limited mobility, enabling them to move around with ease, take part in activities, and participate in everyday life.

We are passionate about making accessibility possible for everyone and we recognize the importance of wheelchairs in achieving this goal. Whilst our speciality is wheelchair accessible vehicles, from our experience we have gained some valuable information about the different types of wheelchairs, their benefits, and how they help people with disabilities achieve independence.

We have also provided a list of resources below to check out!

Manual Wheelchair

Most of our customers use manual wheelchairs as they are usually lightweight, easy to maneuver, and can be self-propelled or pushed by someone else. You will need some good upper strength to propel yourself on one if you are using it by yourself, otherwise they are great if you have a caregiver to push you around. They are also suitable for indoor and outdoor use and are easy to transport.

Electric Wheelchair

Our customers also often use electric wheelchairs, which are also known as power wheelchairs. They are powered by a battery-operated motor. You do not need much upper body strength or mobility to use one of these devices. We find our customers often use their electric wheelchairs for longer distances or outdoor use, such as; going for a walk, going to the local shops, riding around their local park or for walking their dog. They come with a range of features such as adjustable seating, tilt-in-space, and reclining backrests, which offer comfort and support for the user.

Sports Wheelchair

Whilst we do not see a lot of these, we have had some rare customers who use Sports wheelchairs. These are usually our athletic customers who are involved in sports or recreational activities. They are lightweight and designed to enhance mobility and maneuverability, making them perfect for activities such as basketball, tennis, and racing.

Bariatric Wheelchair

We do often see customers who have a higher weight capacity and some of them us Bariatric wheelchairs. They are designed specifically for individuals who require extra support and are ideal for individuals who weigh over 300 pounds. They are designed to provide maximum support and comfort.

Benefits of Using a Wheelchair

Improved Mobility: Wheelchairs allow individuals with disabilities to move around with ease, and they offer greater independence and freedom.

Increased Comfort: Wheelchairs offer greater support and comfort than traditional seating arrangements, allowing individuals to sit for extended periods without discomfort.

Enhanced Quality of Life: By enabling individuals with disabilities to participate in everyday life, wheelchairs can significantly enhance their quality of life.

At our company, we believe that everyone should have access to mobility aids that can help them achieve greater independence and freedom. We offer a range of wheelchair vehicles for hire, and our team is always on hand to help you find the right solution for your needs. We are committed to providing high-quality, reliable services that make mobility accessible to everyone.
