Wheelaway has been providing accessible transport for aged care residents, and has been working with aged care homes and community groups, for over 15 years across Australia. Having started the business when Paul’s mum developed MS, and having family members and staff with disability, we have first-hand lived experience and understand how important accessibility and accessible transport is.

Our modern wheelchair accessible vehicles are available for self-hire or with a professional driver, ensuring residents can get to appointments, outings and events with ease.

Additionally, we offer accessible day tours to Daylesford, Great Ocean Road and in and around Melbourne, and would love the opportunity to take your residents and loved ones on a fun day out. Our day tours are flexible and can be arranged for most areas across Victoria and New South Wales.

Our Range of Vehicles

Wheelaway operates a modern fleet of fully modified wheelchair accessible vehicles to ensure comfort and safety on every trip. Our fleet includes:

Toyota Commuter

This vehicle comes with a hydraulic lift so you can easily and quickly move the person with disability into the vehicle without straining any muscles or energy. Each of our Toyota’s has a different seating layout. They can seat 1-2 wheelchairs and 6-8 passengers.

Kia Carnival

We have a fleet of second and third row converted Kia Carnival's, so the wheelchair occupant has more choice in where they sit. Each vehicle comes with aa ramp, 4 bolsters and can seat 1 wheelchair and 4 -5 passengers.

Mercedes Sprinter

Our Mercedes Sprinter's are or newest vehicles yet, with a flash interior and plenty of space to fit 7 passengers and 1 wheelchair. This is the perfect vehicle for a party, day tour or a trip to your local doctor.

Tarago

This vehicle comes with a ramp that you can wheel the person with disability into the vehicle, and can seat 1 wheelchair and 4-5 passengers.
