At Wheelaway, we have been hiring out adapted vehicles for wheelchair transport to individuals and businesses within the community, for over 10 years. We have worked with thousands of individuals and many major organisations such as; the F1, Motogp, Metro Trains, Yarra Trams, Spring Racing Carnival and the Australian Open. Over this time, we have gained an extensive understanding of adapted vehicles and have purchased what is now a fleet of over 30 vehicles, with 4 types of vehicles, including; a 2nd row Kia Carnival, a 3rd row Kia Carnival, a Toyota Commuter and a Tarago.
Toyota Commuter
This vehicle comes with a hydraulic lift so you can easily and quickly move the person with disability into the vehicle without
straining any muscles or energy, and 4 locks to holster the wheelchair into the vehicle.
The hoist footplate is 830cm W and 1290cm L –
Entrance is 1520cm W and the inside of the vehicle s 1550cm W –
Rear of rear door to rear of footplate is 1400cm Max W
Can seat 1-2 wheelchairs and 6-8 passengers
The lift canwithstand a max weight of 350 kilos including the wheelchair
3rd Row Kia Carnival
This vehicle comes with a ramp to wheel the person with disability into the vehicle, and 4 locks to holster the wheelchair
into the vehicle.
The passenger sits at the back of the vehicle.
The ramp is 800cm W – Entry is 1460cm H
Can seat 1 wheelchair and 4-5 passengers
2nd Row Kia Carnival
This vehicle comes with a ramp to wheel the person with
disability into the vehicle, and 4 locks to holster the wheelchair
into the vehicle.
The person in the wheelchair sits amongst all the other passengers, has a clearer view of outside and the driver can easily reach the person in the wheelchair.
The ramp is 800cm W – Entry is 1460cm H
Can seat 1 wheelchair and 4-5 passengers
Tarago
This vehicle comes with a ramp to wheel the person with disability into the vehicle, and 4 locks to holster the wheelchair into the vehicle.
The passenger sits at the back of the vehicle.
The ramp is 790cm W – Floor length is 115cm – High Clearance 148cm
Can seat 1 wheelchair and 4-5 passengers

We service Sydney & Victoria, we offer self hire, event hire and corporate hire and we can provide a driver at extra cost if we have the staff available.
