For those of you who don’t know Fitzroy… it is one of the trendiest suburbs of Melbourne, and is a very hip cultured neighbourhood of street art, live music and unexpectedly great restaurants. It is a must-see place to visit for tourists and is very popular amongst locals. It is the perfect place to enjoy a lively night scene of delicious food with loved ones!!

A day trip for wheelchair users in Melbourne

1. The Workers Club

Excluding Mondays, the venue is wheelchair accessible with a ramp access from Gertrude Street and a front area with lower tables. They have an accessible uni-sex bathroom with ramp access and disabled parking 50m down from the venue.

Wheelchair ramp access at front door. Ground floor only. Access to disabled toilet on ground floor & outside tables are available. Parking can be found at 34 Jackson Street.

Put a note on your booking to make sure they allocate the best easy accessible table in the venue for you.

They have a side door they can let people in wheelchairs through. There is a tiny step at this side entrance (about 10cm tall) but they have had people in both electric and manual wheelchairs get over this step with some support. Whilst they have no designated accessible bathroom, some wheelchairs can fit in their bathroom. They have on street parking. Call them before you arrive so they can reserve you a table with good accessibility.

They have an outdoor patio and an indoor restaurant that is wheelchair accessible. They have a wheelchair accessible bathroom that is through the kitchen. There is accessible parking to the left of the restaurant. The rooftop is not accessible.

Marion Wine Bar is an accessible venue via the step free entry to the manual front door. There is outside seating available too. Looks spacious on the inside and a wheelchair can fit with moveable tables & chairs. There is parking off street but no specific spots for accessible parking. Accessible parking can be found at the underground car park at the Melbourne Museum & ACU multi-storey.

Naked for Satan is an accessible venue with step free access to manual doors along with a side entrance for service lifts to upper levels. A wheelchair can fit between tables & there is no outdoor seating. There is an accessible toilet onsite & general parking near by. Accessible parking can be found at Coles & Woolworths Fitzroy (if a customer), along with Fitzroy Mills Market.
